Summaries of 219th General Assembly

The office of the General Assembly has provided us with a letter to the church summarizing the actions of last week’s assembly as well as documents providing more detail and answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on four particular areas of action: the report on civil union and marriage; the new Form of Government (FOG), the middle east report and items relating to ordination standards. (Links to the documents are below).
As a Presbytery we will, of course, be dealing with/acting on some of these in depth, as well as with a new confession (the Belhar Confession) during the next twelve months, but in the meantime, I hope that these documents will provide some clarity and good information for you.
