Gleanings from Cherokee Presbytery

As I travel about the Presbytery, I get to hear about all of the wonderful things that God is doing among us and through us. It just feels wrong to keep all of this good news to myself, so in the true spirit of evangelism (sharing good news), here are some tidbits that I have gleaned lately:
The Presbyterian Church of Ghana NCD (meets at Woodlawn) is sending 19 young people (nineteen!!!) to a spiritual conference in Ohio where they will worship, have Bible knowledge competitions and sharing. Join me in thanking God for this wonderful opportunity, and in prayers for a rich and safe time at the conference.
New Lebanon Presbyterian Church in Jasper recently completed 40 days of study and small group fellowship around the book “Unbinding Your Heart” by Martha Grace Reece. Many were blessed with new tools for prayer and evangelism during this time. Let us pray that God will continue to grow this congregation’s faith and witness.
In June, high school students from First Presbyterian Church in Marietta and Heritage Presbyterian Church partnered in a mission trip to Yazoo City, Mississippi where they helped to rebuild lives even while they were building relationships. Surely, this gladdens the heart of God!
Peace to you,
Rebecca
